Stahl's richest win came in a $100,000 Ohio Sire Stakes Final and he has won six Sire Stakes Finals. The native of Republic, Ohio rates the most exciting horse he has ever driven as being Hypnotic Blue Chip, in the 2011 Battle of Lake Erie.
"It was an honor to drive a world-class horse like him," Stahl said. His favorite horse he drove with regularity is back-to-back Ohio Triple Crown winner Jesse's Messenger. "I drove her for Kent Sherman. Kent is one of my best friends in the business."
The 34-year-old Stahl remembers his first win as being aboard a trotting filly named Lojo's Sharp Baby, at the Oak Harbor (Ohio) Fairgrounds.
"That win came about a week after I got my license." Stahl recalled. With 3,000 to choose from, Stahl says that his most memorable win came aboard Podges Lady, in the 2012 edition of the Courageous Lady.

NORTHFIELD, Ohio - On Thursday morning, Hard Rock International announced plans to develop and operate a Hard Rock Gaming and Entertainment Facility at Northfield Park racetrack in Ohio.
The proposed $275 million Hard Rock project will include a Hard Rock-branded casino, premium steakhouse, Hard Rock Cafe, ongoing lineup of live music and iconic music memorabilia from Hard Rock's unmatched collection, as well as a center bar, buffet and conference and meeting space.
This proposed project is subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions, which will depend on what happens with pending litigation in Ohio regarding video lottery terminals (VLTs).
"The transformation will add a gaming and entertainment facility to the current racetrack. This will turn Northfield Village into a tourist and entertainment destination and provide an instant and sustained economic development boost to the Village," said Northfield Village Mayor Jesse Nehez in a news release.
Hard Rock International is teaming with Milstein Entertainment to bring the first globally branded casino to the state, and is expecting the project to stimulate the local economy and generate approximately 1,000 permanent jobs, more than 1,000 construction jobs and other jobs associated with local suppliers and vendors.
The Hard Rock Gaming and Entertainment Facility would be developed as part of the current Northfield Park Racetrack. The joint venture with Hard Rock will enable the racetrack to provide additional enhancements to its current programming that features more than 200 live racing events each year.
“We are thrilled to be working with Milstein Entertainment and the Northfield Park team on this project,” said Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International in a press release. “We look forward to bringing the renowned Hard Rock brand to Northfield Park, as the Hard Rock Gaming and Entertainment Facility would be a state-of-the-art venue, providing world-class entertainment experiences that are unique to the region to complement the local community and its surroundings.”
“Being from Northeast Ohio, I take great pride in the region and the partners we choose to bring here,” said Brock Milstein, Chairman and CEO, Northfield Park and Milstein Entertainment in a press release. “Given the impressive history of the Hard Rock brand and its reputation for developing fun and unique experiences around the world, we couldn’t have chosen a better global brand to develop and operate this venue.”
Hard Rock International currently owns and operates 173 venues in 53 countries, including 138 Cafes and 15 Hotels/Casinos.
